Selamat Hari Raya from My Mom's Best

Last week, Raya week have you go anywhere? We didn't go anywhere but stay back in Selangor. My dear has to work on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. So we didn't go back his home town, but we have a dinner family time with my parents and sibling at Cheras. Haven't wish my Muslim readers and friends Selamat Hari Raya.

If you have notice my blog url, it has changes from www.mymomsbest.us to www.mymumbest.com because I am not able to use the domain name of that anymore. It has brings me lots of memories in my blogging years. Special thanks to my blogger friend Leona for helping me with the domain.She's mommy of two boys just like me, feel free to visit her blog, she blogs of parenting, beauty and tech many more.

It's back to school and yesterday I have to drive 3 rounds to park near school to wait for son. Today even worst, I need to drive 6 rounds in to find a parking then I went to nearest bookstore to shop for son's history exercise book. He says it was missing not sure who took his book, last year it happened to him too and it took almost a month for the math book to show up again. But then I did bought the same book for him, else he would be punish by teacher.

Being mom of two boys, I have no transporter to fetch my sons. I fetch them, unless I have a media trip my dear would be helping me out during his lunch hours. My niece can helped if I am not able to fetch him but it depends too because when's she on college break and here, she can helped me out.

My son Standard 4 now and the exam is very tough. There's why he's attending the tuition at tuition centre. I didn't choose the tuition centre near the school as they only choose the children with good grades. Yeah they will check on the report cards and results of students before they accept them. They will inform you that if your child is slow you better not send there as they are learning fast. It's sad but this is true, as the admin lady of tuition centre told me and saying that if you want to let him tuition at the centre no problem but you have to risk it as he might not able to catch up. Not sure if he's going to go for tuition in school, for Standard 6 its compulsory to tuition in school.

Talking of education, his school uniform need to buy new pair soon as he's growing big. His white pair of shoes also need to change at least twice a year due to size. Now he's no longer using the trolley bag for school because the trolley bag's wheel broken or carrier is broken. He's using backpack and it's very heavy. Today many children are using trolley bags in school, I have seen Standard One children struggling to pull up their bag just a step away.

Parenting is we love and care want to give the best for our children. Always thinking what to cook for them, and for family too. Healthy meals are important for healthy body and mind.

Registration children enter Standard One for year 2017/2018

It's been a busy week for me, 2 nights ago just settle for YS to take the online exam. Last year he failed in the online exam for the KPM as he do it too quickly. This year he manage to pass as he took time to think and answer the questions. I am happy that this time we are able to print out the Ujian UKM1 2016.He was nervous when clicking for the next button.

Next still not settle is entering his little brother for enter his primary school for 2018. The information has come that this year can register not just for 2017 but also 2018 for children born in year 2010 and 2011.

Registration period has started it's from 1 March to 30 April 2016.
Monday to Friday (except for Public Holiday)
Time 8am to 4.30pm.

Requirement of documents to bring along:

1. Online registration form need to have a copy for school. (online registration is at http://public.moe.gov.my the school for my son is at daerah PPD Petaling Perdana)
2. Birth certificate (original and photostat copy)
3. Photostat IC of mom/dad (original and photostat copy)
4. Marriage certificate or Divorce cert
5. 2 white envelope with the standard size of 14cm - 25cm X 9cm -16.5cm
6. If brother/sister is studying in the school, will need their birth cert copy and state on which class they are in. 

Looks like only next week I can go to school for registration as I need to purchase the white envelope.

Other than that, I was told by tuition center that children aged 6 years old can start enroll for tuition classes in tuition center. 

Saturday afternoon outing with son

Look at this huge roti tissue, son cannot finish it alone so I ask my dear and family members to join me to eat. It is not cheap, Sri Melur restaurant is a famous restaurant. I don't know how they charge but my dear pay RM50 and balance he received is around RM2 plus change. It's my first time to order roti tissue there. We have ordered other food like tosai, nasi lemak, some fried chicken, etc.

This afternoon we supposed to purchase his BC textbook from nearby bookstore at the school. But the seller says that the books are still sealed in the box, we'll need to come back again next Monday to purchase. Son told me that now BC papers have two papers to do for exam instead of one paper. Oh boy! It's going to be hectic year for him and me.

Chinese New Year soon, have you start shopping for new clothing? I have enough of clothing and no plan to purchase any yet. His school going to start school tuition on 18 Jan, but son's not taking part as he needs to absent on Friday for outside tuition. So we decided not to give him tuition in school. Perhaps next year he can start tuition in the school, we'll see how it goes. He is poor in BM and BC, that's why now I have started him tuition in tuition centre instead of daycare tuition. Two years he was in daycare tuition and it didn't seem to pull up his grades.

He starting to like Chinese Calligraphy and class teacher has chosen him together with 14 students in class to participate in a contest. We don't know when is the contest but I told him that he'll need to practice to write perfect.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hope it's not too late to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 

Last week we took few days away to go back my dear's home town. 

Yesterday we supposed to go my dad's place to dine with my uncle who is back from Australia but his bus was delay to 9pm reach. Dinner was change time from 7pm to 9pm in Cheras. We didn't make it to the dinner with them as my dear finds it too late to dine. Uncle was on way back from Kelantan last night. 

December is almost over, this is a throw back on shopping for my son's sport shoes. The shoes that used for him to go jungle trek at Awana Longhouse. I know they are many types of shoes to choose from but I need to choose one that is suitable for him. He's growing fast and he needs to wear men's shoes instead of children's shoes. The sport shoes chosen was suitable to use for hiking too. He did blog about the list things to bring for jungle trek. The sport shoes that I bought him last time at Giant can no longer fit him. This time shopping for sport shoes was in MYDIN USJ, for your information MYDIN USJ started to have parking system to pay. I do missed their free parking in MYDIN USJ. This pair of shoes that bought for him cost RM69.90. I prefer to shop for his shoes there as I find more choices of shoes available.

During the day I bring him to purchase sport shoes, he didn't go to the day care tuition centre and guess what?! The day care centre thought he is not attending anymore decided to remove his name from the rack of shoes. He went some days and find out his name was remove as tuition teachers thought he no long going there. Anyway I am starting him with another tuition centre instead of day care tuition centre as I don't see any improvement of his grades instead just getting worst. They only have one experienced teacher but she is not teaching his level.

Next year will be a tough year as he's entering Standard 4, he needs to choose either to be a Scout or Red Cresent Member in school uniform's activities.

It's not baby bump just layered of fats

Tomorrow back to school, so mommies are you ready to get start with school tomorrow? Yeah sending children to school then fetching them back or sending them to next destination maybe tuition or other activities. I have friends with schedule plan for their children. As for me, I have too as my son is poor in some subjects in school. He needs to attend tuition center to learn and get knowledge though I can try teaching him but bad news is he's not listening and it takes longer time to do. I saw his books and exercises, it's all getting tougher and harder which gives me out of hands to teach. I can't even read some words which printed in mandarin. Though we know the exam and studies are getting harder and tougher, we not giving up yet, but some parents have choose to transfer their child to another school. Some of them can fork out money for private or international school, but we can't afford so we prefer to continue this school. He knows he's poor in few subjects and he has no interest of changing school, he says he would try his best.

Anyway I put up the title up baby bump as many people even relatives think that I am expecting again. Oh well, I am not it's just layered of fats I am gaining. Yeah gaining weight for me is easy and losing weight is tough for me.

It's fifth day of Hari Raya today, we just stay at home beside sending son to tuition. My dear starts work tomorrow as he took leaves to rest at home. This coming Thursday my dad will have his right eye's laser. My dad told me it cost RM3200 each time laser, it's a cost for health and better eye sight. He's already have high blood pressure for many years, now he's also taking medicines of diabetes and high cholesterol. Is it due to aging? He is 70 years old this coming December.

Tomorrow dad admission for eyes laser vision

Tomorrow morning as early as 7am my bro will send my dad to hospital in Sungai Long as my dad needs to have his eyes laser. He's been complaining of eyes pain and he found out that he had diabetes when he was in Kajang Hospital admission few days due to dengue fever. He is only going home in the evening after the laser.

I don't know the details as I am not in Mahkota Cheras with him. My dad says the doctor that in charge has an clinic in Subang USJ, Subang Jaya. I am not sure of this as I ask him of the doctor name but he didn't tell me anything about it. I noticed his eyes for sometimes and I knew something is not right but didn't know that he got diabetes. My mom is worry of him too, so she's always calling him to ask.

Tomorrow, son has tuition because he's poor in BM so tuition teacher is concerns of him so ask him to go tuition. He's not alone as other children that tuition together is going to tuition if they are not going back hometown or anywhere for holiday.

First week of school & kindergarten

My toddler is attending Kindergarten and it's his first week. Sadly today he cried so much when he refuses to go. My dear and I have tried out best to persuade him.

Now my toddler with a habit of changing his Kindergarten uniform only in the car. It also depends on his mood whether he wants to get down from the car or not. It's not easy as my toddler is not well in speech but he is picking up step by step. He is slow speaker just like his brother. It takes time for him to talk, my big boy started talking more when he's 4 yrs old.

It's important to get the children sleep early but it's not going to be easy. Seem my big boy has comes up with terms and conditions when I ask him to do revision on studies. Standard Three this year is going to be a tough year for him as he's weak in BM (Malay) and BC (Chinese). I would say the writing will be tough as he doesn't know many words.

I was told by friend the other school, sons's classmate transferred there in Putra Height. The principle ask the parent to transfer their children because they didn't know Chinese language. I am shocked to know of that, aren't children suppose to be given chance to try before asking them to give up? She told me that her friend's with twin children started Standard One there, the principle was happy when her friend decided to transfer her children to other school.

My son is not good with some subjects so he's going to tuition, even his classmate. I am surprise that even high score students are going to tuition as well. That's why tuition center are depending on children's results to see if they are willing to teach the student or not. Don't be surprise if you find tuition center that like to teach students with good grades as easier for them to pick up.

UK Agro Farm at Kluang

There is a field trip that son interest to go but my dear is not willing to let him go. He's worry of his safety as journey is far. It's 3 hours buses from here to UK Agro Farm in Kluang. The field trip cost RM120 for son to go, I don't know why field trip not allow parent to go. If he's willing to ask teacher if I can go along then he might have the chance to go. I would love to go UK Agro Farm, been Google of this so much!

So I haven't decide what to do on the day yet. So it might be going for movie, or Kidzania. My son loves Kidznia very much, he didn't have the KidZanian paZZport yet for Kidzania. It's time to sign him up as he loves the place so much.

School bag left outside tuition centre

Next year my toddler be going to Kindergarten, how excited would it be? Well it's no really fun as it would be tough to wake him up. I can never forget my eldest going to kindergarten first year crying in bed, says he's not willing to go etc. It's also time for him to have toilet train for going big project before going to kindergarten, some how my eldest always failed me driving half way we need to turn back because he needs to do big project.

Anyway about school bag left outside tuition centre, it's a tuition centre nearby son's school. It's famous with many children studying there, it's a shop lot type of tuition centre. My friend and I last year headed there, she wanted to request about school holiday activities, the lady didn't invite us in, she also take a look at overall clothing. Yeah, you know it, some people do judge you by what you wear! The lady told us that they only accept all year long student means they don't accept temporary student.

I saw a few times after working hours, the children's school bags would be left outside the tuition centre and nobody look after it. Imagine how dangerous it would be if someone just take a way of the the bags, who is going to be responsible for the lost of school bag and books in bag?! School bags lining up outside of the tuition centre.

I am sure no parent would want to see their child going back to school without their school bag.
