Toddler beheaded, head next to body

I'm sad to see this news about the toddler beheaded, she's only 2 year old. Someone abducted her and killed her then beheaded her.

My heart break, how could anyone be so cold blooded?!

She's only two year old, what harm can she do to you? Why this mad man killed her?!

No matter where we are, we need to keep an eye on our child.

My 2 year 3 months old toddler

Tomorrow my toddler will be 2 year 3 months old, he's still love having nap using sarong. Sarong has been a traditional use in many generation and families. In fact my siblings too use sarong during our childhood.

Child specialist will not recommend in using sarong because it is not good for baby's spine. Yeah my eldest son's child specialist always remind the dangerous of using sarong. My eldest son stop using sarong when he's about a year old, he was exclusive breastfeeding until he reached 3 and half years old.

The above picture of my toddler having his nap in sarong, you can see his sleeping in comfort. Once he's sleep we have more time to do house chores.

One of my friends told me that her baby left for babysitter to care, she spotted her baby's in sarong but her sarong's covered/surrounded with napkins. It's like surrounding it making it pitch dark inside. It's no good too because you don't know if baby's having enough air to breath or not.

Safety gate for baby

Do you think it is important to have safety gate at home? Some parents put them between the kitchen door, 1st floor of the house between walls of staircase. I have the safety gate put up at 1st floor between walls of staircase for my first child. I afraid of him fall down from stairs, he was a good boy.

For second child, my active boy his more active than his eldest brother. He's able to pull up the gate door by himself. He can open and shut it, though it is heavy! Sometimes he would scream for help as he wants to close the gate door.

Beware of safety gate for baby, you need to check whether the lock to wall is secure or not. Always checking to prevent accidents at home. There was a time my 8 years old open the gate door but he fell down, lucky he was opening for coming upstairs not going down stairs. The whole gate fell down on the floor and he's on top of it. It really shocked me for the moment, lucky he's alright no injury.

Always check the screw of the safety gate between walls, they can get loose sometimes.

Make Safety Your Child's Companion - Indoor And Outdoor‏

As every parent holds their new-born infant, the overwhelming feeling of unconditional love and care envelopes the child the moment the baby is held in their arms. What’s more, the smile of the baby brings a sweet and warm joy to the parents knowing that their precious child is happy, feeling safe and protected.  Nonetheless, deriving the reason behind the smile of the baby is what pulls experts at Aprica and Graco to engineer simple modern solutions to best enrich every family's journey to make safety the child's companion, inside and outside.

To ensure that infants grow happily in a safe environment, there are little things which parents can do to protect them from the more serious injuries that can lead to disabilities and even fatalities. Accidents can occur indoors and outdoors, and most of them can be prevented when safe and prudent precautions are taken. For instance, the increase in car accidents involving infants and children every year is a dreadful reality which highlights the issue of child safety.

A crash test analysis conducted by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) in 2010 revealed that an adult passenger will not have the required strength to prevent an infant or a child from being thrown forward during a collision at any speed applied. More frighteningly, at a vehicle driving at the speed of a mere 50km per hour, an unsecured infant weighing 7.0kg will actually be thrown forward at a powerful force of 240kg/sq2, which is an equivalent impact of an adult falling from a five-storey building. These numbers reveal that infants are the most vulnerable passengers and a high percentage of children in Malaysia were unfortunately killed during road accidents; more than any other causes known to date.

With this in mind, Kinderdijk Sdn Bhd launched a one-week Child Safety Roadshow Campaign that centres on Kinderdijk’s commitment to strongly remind parents and guardians to be wary and to take all necessary precautions to safeguard their children’s safety. The roadshow held from 14th to 20thOctober 2013 in Mid Valley Megamall, also showcased a line of Aprica and Graco child safety car seats, strollers, baby carriers and travel systems, all of which are designed in line with the principles of paediatrics and childcare engineering to enhance childcare and create a fun family life.

Gwei Tze-Co, Managing Director, Kinderdijk Sdn Bhd said, “Based on the statistics, more parents seem to assume that holding their child or letting them sit on the lap is enough to protect them from the impact of accidents. It is also becoming a worrying trend that the usage of child safety car seats and travel systems are not something that most Malaysian parents take seriously. Parents must understand that children are the most precious cargo on-board; hence safety should not be undervalued, nor taken for granted as it can benefit them in the long-run.”

“According to the study conducted by MIROS, an infant will be flung forward at a high velocity albeit being held by an adult during a vehicle collision at only 30km per hour and most likely will be killed as the direct result of such violent impact. Thus, being equipped with the right and comfortable baby travelling equipment can provide a peace of mind to parents when using the equipment while travelling,” said Jenny Kwan, Senior Sales Manager, Hong Kong & ASEAN, Newell Rubbermaid Asia Pacific. “Furthermore, parents need to practice buckling up and young children should be taught on how to use them. Safety is crucial to child development and it is imperative to cultivate the prudent habit from young.”

Understanding the Reason behind the Baby’s Smile

Psychologists have found that babies are the most happiest when they feel secure and safe in a trusted environment. A baby’s smile can bring wonders and eases the stress away. To ensure babies are safe, experts at Aprica are designing products that are developed with scientific approaches and medical science on babies and childcare engineering to provide comfort to the baby. Likewise, Graco is providing safety solutions that make childcare easier with products which are fully convenient and intuitive, catering to making a fun family life.

In light of this, Aprica has formed the 8.3.8 Principle to identify, protect and nurture the baby’s body and mind to create the best environment for babies with the development of comfortable baby products. Aprica has drawn out ‘8 Medical Structures to protect and nurture babies’ from the ‘8 Babies’ immaturity in body to be protected’ structure and ‘3 Baby’s emotional growth to be encouraged’ concept identified through researches on baby paediatrics and childcare engineering.

Wong explaning the Aprica's 838 concept, you can refer chart below for detail.

“At Kinderdijk, we understand that care and safety are essential to keep the baby comfortable and secure. The Aprica and Graco products distributed by Kinderdijk are innovatively engineered and carefully designed to provide convenience and security to parents, especially those who are leading a modern lifestyle,” Gweiadded.  Given that comfort and safety are vital to form the foundation of childcare devices, the following are the standards that guide Aprica engineers to develop baby products essential to make babies happy.

Don't leave your windows open at night!

This is scary but it is true, for those that sleep with open windows at night ponder the following. The size of the opening where the "accused" went through is less than the size of an A4 sheet of paper.

I know its hot weather in Malaysia, no matter what don't leave your windows open in the night. I remembered my friend shared with me that she thought she saw someone peeping her from the window at night.

For safety, best closed all windows tight. Double check them if you need.

Best be safe than sorry.

Drunk driver bang seven cars near school

Yesterday I was bit late to reach near school to find parking, not long after parking and I head down to the shop area. I heard some moms saying there have been a serious car accident, no casualty but the drunk driver bang seven cars from left side of the road and right side of the road!

One lady driver told my friends and me that she followed the drunk driver car from behind, she saw what happened she thought the driver purposely hit the cars because the roads are narrowed due to cars parking outside the parking area.

Anyway many cars damaged and badly scarred, there is long marked at side of cars! The last car the drunk driver hit was Perodua Kancil and it is badly damaged the front car section. The drunk driver car hits a lorry and the side mirror of car flew off! Yeah Police was at the scene, the lady driver saw the man came out of the car one hand holding his head then sat down on the floor. I don't know if the car owners were there to check on their car, many people says they heard loud bang!

I didn't see the accident happened until they mention it. I didn't see the damaged cars but sound like serious; the car owners will need to repaint their cars!

Car windscreen broken when back from work

Yesterday evening going for a walk in playground, I saw a car with driver seat side window broken. This is shocking nobody saw who did it or how it happen. So everyone is guessing maybe is broken by the stone as cutters are they to cut grass and stone flew and hit the windscreen. Anyway it is a big hole, one neighbour walk closer to have a look.

The car parked the playground as didn't want to pay any parking ticket at the nearby office or shopping mall. The car is not tinted with protective film, it is Proton Waja. The man came back from work saw his car damage, he started smoking and open the boot to check. He didn't bother to ask anyone at playground about what happen to his car.

We have not seen him around before, it is first time I saw Proton Waja grey colour parked at playground. I am not sure how much he will need to pay to get it fix, this is why you need buy insurance for your car windscreen! No kidding, once my dear's car got damaged the big screen it cost nearly RM900 or more.

Have your bought insurance to cover your car windscreen?

Do you check your plugs at home?

I like to know how many of you at home would pull out the plug to see. Above pictures are real and the plug you see is the fridge plug. You can refer to the second picture and you see there is nothing wrong with the plug, but once pulled out there is burn hole! Seriously this will caused fire in house if you are not careful. That night we lost our electricity my dear take the advantage to check out the plug. He has the feeling there is something wrong he suspects on the fridge's plug, true enough and this is the result. He faster put on his headlight and work on changing the fridge's plug, we are lucky we have purchased a spare one for emergency. The house electricity only back on after few hours.

FYI, I still purchased the brand you see in the picture for putting multiple plug namely for rice cooker, fridge, and so on. Let me know if you make full use of them, sometimes we do and sometimes we don't use them all.

Umbrella is useful

I am sure you have an umbrella, it is as useful as you can use under the sun and rain. Other than that you can also use it as a tool of protection. You can ward off the angry dogs and who knows what else you can do with it.

The neighbourhood here you need to look around where ever you go, whether on foot or by car. For safety reason get hold of anything you find useful as safety products.

My housemate went out and she does not want to bring along the umbrella until I told her that she can used as protection and it is hot day here.

Leaving your kids behind a bad idea!

I got to know that many parents like to leave their kids and children behind with someone that they trusted. Personally, I am feeling that it is a bad idea! They have been cases happening recently like accident at home.

A three year old girl was run over by her cousin car because she followed him out and he do not know about that. She was under the care of her grandmother while her parents are on the vacation in another country.

I think that is why some parents prefer to bring their children to go any where they go.
