Biggest Community Chinese New Year Open House@MYDIN MALL USJ, SUBANG JAYA

How's everyone doing tonight? I am happy to tell you that I was invited to Chinese New Year Open House at Mydin Mall USJ, Subang Jaya. Thanks to Rabiatul for the information on this. I am happy that Puan Rafidah of Mydin didn't mind me bring my son to go along. It was held on Friday night and we reached there before 7pm.

Subang Jaya residents and shoppers of Mydin Mall USJ can enjoy the festival at the Mall's entrance which had been transformed into the perfect venue to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We saw hundreds of lanterns lit up the venue. They are lucky draws awaited guests who stood a chance to win attractive Cosmetic Hampers, Food and Non Food Hampers, Jewellery, Digital Wrist Watches and electrical items such as washing machine, 32" LCD TV, Stand Fan, Food Processor and Blenders.

It was early evening for us and emcee is there, he's standing near the 120 feet long firecrackers at the entrance of the Mall. Emcee has asked one of the Mydin's staff to come on stage and talk to him.
Everyone is excited about the Chinese New Year Open House, so many shoppers and residents came. The crowd was treated to an array of local food and delights set up at the mobile stalls around the venue while being entertained by various cultural performances and local artistes who showed up to make the evening merrier.

Here's some pictures to share with you, I have more in my digital camera which I haven't upload yet.

The clowns are here and many children with parents are excited. You know it my son wanted a sword balloon.
The sound of crackling fireworks filled the air as VIPs lit up the 120 feel long firecrakers at the entrance of the Mall. This was followed up with a prosperity toss of Yee Sang prepared by Maggi.

Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hj. Ameer Ali Mydin, Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd who kicked off the night's festivities said he was overwhelmed with the turnout at MYDIN Mall USJ1's inaugural community Chinese New Year event which was jointly organized with Subang Jaya's community newspape SJ Echo.
"Chinese New Year is a time for family reunions, celebrations and getting together. We are part of the Subang Jaya community and that's why we organised this for our extended family in this robust and dynamic township"
"Our newly renovated Mall has the opportunity to host such a huge event which can house at any one time up to 5,000 people," he said right after receiving a tray filled with pomelo and mandarin oranges from the lion dance performers as a sign of prosperity and longevity for the New Year.

The less fortunate and the aged were not forgotten. Children from Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah and senior citizens from an old folks home in Sungai Way were amongst the invited guests for the celebrations.

I didn't stay back until 12 something middle of night where it ends. We left at ten something in the night and I didn't want to miss out the perfomance of the thunderous beat of drums as lions and a dragon swirled and pranced around could be heard from afar.
